Reviews
Cozy restaurant in Kennett Square. Notably serves a few pasta dishes and several pizza options. First time dinning in and it was great. Staff was friend and helpful. Food was very good. Ordered pasta with short rib and it was tasty. Partner ordered a steak and it was cooked to perfection. Drinks were tasty and desserts were great. Overall I'd love to visit again, next you time I'd like to try their pizzas since there were a few eye catching combinations.
Food is absolutely Amazing and the staff is amazing as well..!!!.. my wife and I love this place and definitely will be back for sure.
We went here Saturday night after attempting to go to Chadds Ford Tavern (which was mobbed) so we decided to continue down Route 1 to see what we would find. We spotted Hearth Kitchen in this strip of stores and thought we would take a chance. REALLY glad we did. It was still happy hour so we decided to eat at the bar, really small but quality craft beer selection, many unusual drinks like “Sweater Weather” where a lit cinnamon stick is put into the drink to bring smoke. We had the pizza’s off of the happy hour menu, which were only $13 and were wood smoked style, super good! But the best thing about our visit was our server/bartender Frank, he really made the experience so fun, we want to come back just to see him again, oh and of course to drink some beer :)
Always liked this place but recently they changed the menu and obviously this is personal preference but I believe the previous menu items were much better. They had a great shrimp scampi and one of the best chicken Parms I’ve ever had. They used to have more Italian staples that seem to have been replaced by seafood options like swordfish skewers and fried oysters. Pizza is still fantastic, but I hope they bring back some of the previous items.
I'm very happy they cooked my steak perfect rare. Which is an unusual occurrence with most restaurant. The steak was juicy and well seasoned.
Waited an hour and a half for a table and were then told we had to sit at a high top in the bar. We asked for the manager. But instead of being gracious he was pompous and rude. We chose to spend our money elsewhere.
We were in town for the night and it was very close to our hotel with few other options locally within a mile or 2. The service was good but one complaint is that the mains arrived to the table while we were still eating our appetizer. Please can we get some time between? Our reservation was at 8:30 (and we were on time) and I know they were very eager to close the kitchen at 9, but you should still plan service off the 2 courses accordingly.
The food was ok. We both got the chicken parm. The chicken seemed a bit over cooked but the pasta on the side was very good. I think the pastas are homemade.
Pizza!!! We had all the pizza. Fig and bacon, garlic and ricotta, margharita, and sopresatta....all so good...crust on the thinner side and with the big burnt bubbles. Water is with no ice and I loved it. Garlic bread is crsipy and delicious. The pizzas are shareable size....probably at least 12-15 inches across. The music was a little weird - it started out like kinda big band or "Italian-sounding" and moved to 00's clubbing songs. The hostesses were also pretty much dressed in street clothes and didn't look like they worked there... ut neither of those things really affected anything. Food and service were good!
